Hello Gurus,
We are currently using SAP R/3 4.7 on Oracle 9.2.0.4 on Solaris 9 (SPARC) OS. We want to build a stand-by server on Windows (Intel) Platform, and restore the online backup of existing SAP R/3 on the same.
Is it possible to deploy this scenario on Windows platform, is there any platform issues or Database is dependent on Platform.
Please guide your valued suggestions ASAP.
Regards,
Kshitiz Goyal

No - this is not possible.
Solaris/SPARC is a Big-Endian platform, Windows/Intel is Little-Endian (see note 552464 - What is Big Endian / Little Endian? What Endian do I have?)
This is not only true for the database files but also for the redo logs. Your scenario won´t work.
It´s possible to create a system copy with 10g using transportable tablespaces (see note 1003028 - Enhanced support for system copy in BR*Tools - Point 3) but you can´t set up a standby database and feed it with the redo logs created on a different endianess.
