Hi ,

I am new to webdynpro.

When i am creating a view it is giving me error saying

The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://sapci.tcscadbury.com:1080/sap/bc/wdvd?

The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for sapci.tcscadbury.com

The dnsserver returned:

Name Error: The domain name does not exist.

This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.

Check if the address is correct.

Your cache administrator is root.

can you guys please help me out how to solve the error?

Hi PBS

This is more of a Configuration error.

Check for 2 things

1) Every domain has an "authoritative" DNS server. That DNS server is the one responsible for propogating the DNS records for that domain to all the other DNS servers. Try to host your DNS records.

2) thus in the DNS admin give your ip address and host name correctly.

try to add the following lines in the HOSTS file

server ip add sapci.tcscadbury.com

The HOSTS file is present in windows\system32\drivers\etc

Hope this will solve ur problem
