ESW: Limitations of XI at Enterprise Services Workplace

Hi all,

I've already registered to access Enterprise Services Workplace.

When i access the PI main page, could i create a new Technical System?

I would like to do the "SAP NetWeaver Process Integration 7.1 - Simple Use Cases" https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b030691f-8b8b-2a10-5d94-8dd064dc...

Can i do it at Enterprise Services Workplace PI ?

With my user i can't create a new Technical System.

Best regards

Hi Isaías,

You don't have access to SLD with ESWorkplace.

Instead , ESWorkplace provides you a place search, explore and consume Enterprise Services which are provided by SAP.

You cannot do this use case with ESWorkplace.

You need a PI 7.1 to be installed in your landscape. ESWorkplace is nowhere related to the same.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Piyush,

Unfortunately is very hard to a person that don't work at SAP Consulting Company to learn about XI (as EMS/SOAK). I think that a Trial version could be available like the others Vendors (Oracle, IBM, BEA and so.) I understand that focus of SAP is only SAP Customers and not Enthusiasts Developer.

At first time i was happy with the possibility of practice PI at ESW

Hi Isaías,

PI 7.1 is available only for ramp up customer/patners only. It is not yet released for productive customers like PI 7.0. Yes, you are right, it is not easy to learn SAP without proper landscape

Trial versions are available for JAVA and ABAP WAS and portal but not XI.

Just go through this link.
