Hi All,
all along I've known only support packages as far as SAP is concerned; except for the kernel patches, of course. Then I read note 1020669 which talks about "NW2004s SP11 patch 2 and higher". This sort of sounds like a patch for the support package. Anyway, my question is - how do I check what patch level (not support package level) I'm on? Secondly, does this mean that I can now download a patch (not a support package) and deploy it individually? Or, what's this thing about "SP11 patch 2"?
Thanks in advance.
Support pack 11 has five components a11, b11, c11, d11 and e11 .... now we find some issue in c11, d11 and e11 . SAP might think of releasing a new support pack (which will fix the issues) or they might give out patches for c11, d11 and e11. As these are abundant and to reduce the hassle of patching each component separately , you can apply SP11 patch 2 till the time there is a new SP 12 released which will have fixes for c11, d11 and e11 and also new functionality if possible .
The supplementary patches individually have a prefix P
Hope this will make it easier to understand ..
Thanks
Rahul
