Hi all,

Until which process the ship to party can be redertimined in sales order processing.(ie. up to sale order or delivery or shipping)

Hi,

the shipto party has to be determined at the sales order level itself. But there would be situations where the ship to is changed at the order level from the list of shipto's available for a particular sold to. Otherwise it might just be overwritten at the order level to the one determined by master data ie customer master partners.

ship to party can be redetermined only upto sales order level. this is because in delivery the goods have to be shipped to a particular shipping party which has to be known prior to creatind delivery.

Hi,

Ship to party is proposed from Customer Masterdata of the Sold to party as per the partner functions maintained in there. This data will be available at both header and item level in sales order.

We can change it at header level if we want. In this case, the changed ship to party will be applicable for all the items.

However, if we want to change the ship to party for a particular item, we can change the SH for that item by going to Item----Partner screen and change the ship to party. In this case, at each item level, there will be different ship to parties. Hence at header level, the SH will have all these ship to parties.

This means that we can change ship to party at Order level.

Once this is done, we will create delivery. In delivery we cannot change the SH.

Common tenets of partner functions are as follows.

In sales order, sold to party is unique

In Delivery, Ship to party is unique

In Billing document, Payer is unique.

Ship to party has to be determined only at the order level .Before that you need to assign this Ship to party to the respective sold to party in the customer master record-partner functions
