Started with pid=692428

Error listening on: (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(PORT=1521))

TNS-12542: TNS:address already in use

TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error

TNS-00512: Address already in use

IBM/AIX RISC System/6000 Error: 67: Address already in use

Please help me

Dear Karan,

First check whether you already have Oracle Database instance running on that machine. Then check, if another listener is already run on your dummy machine ?

Finally, check on your /etc/services file, whether listener port 1521 is already used by another process ?

Hi. Check another listener that listens to the same port:

"ps -ef | grep lsnr" , also check this port by NETSTAT program. Can you check and post listener.ora and tnsnames.ora files here ? Are any other oracle database installed on this server? Regards.

Are you check this port are not use to another program? Check /etc/services and by NETSTAT this port 1521.

Also the "HOST = tegaprod" are the hostname to new Dummy server ? Regards.

Can you say the hostname of your dummy server ? In services file the 1521 port are not used. Are you can to press : "netstat -a" command on your dummy server and check if port 1521 are used? Regards.

Can you reboot the server , and after try to start listener ? Also check the "lsnrctl status" , the tnsnames.ora and listener.ora are copied from your productive server (the server have same name ?) . The dummy server are separate host or how ? Try to reboot.

Hi karan Singh. Are you here? As i can see on Oracle forum, you have another error after reboot.... Can you explain the PRD server from which you restore all are in ORACLE cluster (RAC) or on this server are 2 oracle database? This error occur in RAC and the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora which at you like the RAC sap on oracle( or 2 oracle database) . Can you answer? Regards.

Hi Sergo,

Thanks for reply.

Our PRD sever run on AIX operating system ,oracle9 & sap4.7

this server has only one oracle database.host(tegaprd)

And Dummy server has the same SID with different host (tegapord) this server has AIX operating system,oracle9, sap4.7.

I restore all data file redolog file sapreorg on the dummy server

via FTP.

Thanks & Regards

Karan

Hi Karan,

Ideally you should have followed a system copy procedure from SAP.

You are trying to copy only SAP and DB directories and files from x to y host. This will not make SAP operational.

There are various files at OS updated while you perform SAP Installation biz services, hosts files, environment variables, OS authorization and etc....

As you see the sapservices entries are also not available on your dummy host /etc/services file.

While it will be available on your Prodcution host.

There are few additional actions that you will need to perform to make SAP and DB operational on your Dummy server.

Refer to this thred:

Nilesh
