Hi
use the followin parameters while creating the RFC connection.
if you are using the tcp/ip connection use the connection type as T.
enter the gatway host as ur host name of the R/3 system
gateway service as sapgw<systemno>
in the logon security tab provide the user name, password, client no etc. and save the settings.
now from the test connection tab test the connection.
if u still face the problem please reply me back.
Thanks
Rinku

Hi Stan,
in r/3 in SM59 in your this rfc conn, if it is a type T conn, then give gateway host and service of r/3 system and give program-id for XI system..........in XI in ID create a RFC comm channel to communicate with r/3 system and there give application host and service of r/3 system, then save and activate it......then in r/3 your rfc conn will work fine.

Hi Stan
Check the parameter values provided in the sm59. some of the parameters are not correctly specified.
Refer to this link for RFC destination creation

Please check the RFC in SM59.
Check whether you hostname and gateway jost id entered in that RFC.
If not then enter your hostname and gateway instance name
