Space issue u0096 trans directory

Former Member

On our development system [ECD] trans directory occupied 13 GB space, out of which data folder contributes 7 GB & log folder contributes 3 GB.

There are some data files which were created during client export (around 2.5 GB) & there are some *.SAP files (around 2.5 GB) showing type as “SAP GUI Shortcut”.

EPS\IN folder contains 1 GB ATT & PTT files.

I want to know that if I delete the data files, *.SAP files from data directory and ATT & PTT files from EPS\IN directory then is it cause any inconsistency?

Thanks & Regards

Rajesh

You can delete the ATT & PTT files of support packs already installed without any issue. About the .SAP files created during the export you can delete it if its not going to be used anymore.

Always take a backup defore deleting anything.

Hi Juan,

Thanks for your prompt reply

What should I do with the files created during client export (files with *.ECQ & *.ECP extension)?

Can I delete those files as they are no longer required for me?

Yes, i will take offline backup before deleting any file.

Are your systems called ECP and ECQ?

I can't recall any files with those extentions.

Yes, ECP is production system & ECQ is quality system.

The *.ECP files are created during client export from production.

Can I delete those files?

Thanks for reply.

Hello Rajesh,

1> take a backup of the "Data" and "Cofiles" folder on to a different location.

2> delete all the ATT and PAT files present in "EPS/in"

3> Then take backup of "Log" files folder and delete all the files present in it.

4> start applying the pending Support packs.

5> if it still shows erro then, unpack then again into "ATT and PAT" from the pending SPs.

6> check always for the space and do not apply all together again to avoid the issue.

7> apply one by one software components.

Do let me know if this resolves your issue.

Thank you.
