Transfer Posting

I would appriciate if any one can send me information on what Transfer Posting is, and how it can be done.

Hello,

Generic term covering both physical transfers of stock and changes that affect book records only (that is, which do not involve a physical movement), such as changes in the identification or classification of stocks. Examples

Stock transfer within a plant or between plants, Release from quality inspection, Transfer of consignment stock to the company's own stock Batch splitting .

Trnafer of posting is done to trnafer stock from one plant/storage to another plant/storage under the same company. If the transfer is between the storage locations of same plant there will not be any accounting docs generated.

If the transfer of posting is Sloc to Sloc but with two different plant, and valuation area and valuation price is diff then there will accounting doc and material doc created for the same.

The transaction for trnafer of posting is MB1B

301- Transfer posting plant to plant (one-step)

303 - Transfer posting plant to plant – remove from storage

305- Transfer posting plant to plant – place in storage.

309- Transfer posting material to material

311- Transfer posting storage location (one-step).
