Dear Community,
We are using SAP ECC6.0 and Oracle 10.2.0.2.0.
Normally in production system we are backing up all data and log files in tape using DBA Planning Calender (DB13) as Whole database online + redo log backup.
Now I want to restore in test sytem from tape using BrRestore. How can I do that? What is command line BrRestore?
Note=I have removed SCSI Card and Tape Backup Unit from Production system and I have installed them directly to test system.
Sincerely,
Suleyman BOZKURT
Thank you for answers.
I have tried step by step items according note 96848 disaster recovery instead of brrestore commands.
only some files were restored from backup tape. But not at all.
there is two selections in disaster recovery main menu;
1-restore profile and log files from brbackup backup selection
I have to use this selection more than one. Why?
2-restore profile and log files from brarhive backup selection
I did not use this selection yet.Is that necessary ?
I am not sure all of backup tape was restored from backup tape. Finally dispatcher services is not working now in testing system.

Okey.
I restored database files using brtools menu commands.
I want to start oracle database instance using brtools but below errors occur. What can I additional do?
database file 1 verification check
datafile 1:F:\oracle\GMH\SAPDATA1\SYSTEM_1\SYSTEM.DATA1
wrong incarnation of this file-wrong creation SCN

Hi,
it looks like the error you are getting is ORA-01203:
Error: ORA 1203
Text: wrong incarnation of this file - wrong creation SCN
-
Cause: The creation change number in the file header is not the same as the
creation change number in the control file.
This is probably a copy of a file that was dropped.
Action: Restore a current copy of the datafile and perform recovery as needed.
I'd say that your restore (or the backup) is not good.
To do a proper analysis it would be necessary to take a look at all the log files (backup/restore/recovery/alert log)
my suggestion is that you open a message in SAP. You can send them all the files and they can tell you what step you have not done properly.
Hi,
Just follow the note 96848
This note will give you very clear step that you need to do
to restore your production system into your testing system.

Fendi

Hi,
1.- Use BRTOOLS instead, then you only have to follow the menu.
2.- Use BRRECOVER, (it is called from BRTOOLS so you do not have to think about the options)
3.- and finally, my mantra: read the documentation:
you can start on the [SDN|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/ora?rid=/webcontent/uuid/e009c565-2acd-2a10-a398-ba88c7c7773c] [original link is broken];
then reading the [Disaster Recovery for Oracle |https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a975013a-0d01-0010-7c9d-dcfda2e3b566]
and, of course the [Portal|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/0b/5daf09b03344ad97338f838e09b9ee/frameset.htm]
