MI Initial requirements

Hi Experts,

Recently I was technically transfered from EP to MI.

Im very strange to Netweaver MI. Can any one tell me what are needed to start working on MTT (Mobile Time and Travel).

I was given access to R/3 system (I suppose its called as Middleware) and I have installed Mobile Infrastructure (Mobile Client) in my desktop.

Can anyone tell me what should be the settings to be given in the client in order to start syncing the data from the middleware.

Correct me if Iam going wrong in any of the technical terms

Please help me out as I need to get ready for a demo with one of my clients.

Thanks

Geoff

Hi Geoff,

if th setup in the backend is done corrct and your user has the correct profile it should be straight forward.

Go to the J2EE Engine of the middleware. Connect to the ADMINISTRATOR view - there you will find the Mobile Infrastructure part. In there, assign the T&T application to your device and then sync the device. The application will come down to the device - so restart it and sync again. After that you should see the relevant data.

Be aware: T&T is a generic sync app - most documents talk about Smart sync applications.

To get an overview about MI install sequence and so on - even it is a little technical perhaps - have a look here:

Hope it helps!

Hi Geoff,

Which SP level of MI client are you using , (7.0 or 2.5) ?

Based on that i can provide the steps that you need to follow to get the device id.

Hi Rajan,

I have download the file MI25SP13FULL_0-10002889.zip from the market place and then installed by clicking the setup file from tom\exefiles path.

Thanks,

Hi,

are you sure you are on the correct veriosn? MI2.5SP13 - is ages old!

I guess your MW server is Netweaver 2004S (<- the S is the relevant thing?) In that case you need to run MI7.0SP13 and not MI2.5SP13. MI2.5 is the correct verison for Netweaver2004! (Without the S at the end)

Hope that helps!

Oliver
