Hi shyam sundar ,
Technical or Function consultant will not be having access
to production directly.whatever changes you want to make make it in Development and then transfer to production.but there are some cases where you need to change in production itself ( ex. Period closing........) .In this case u can directly change in the production.so it depends upon your role assigned.
Please reward points if found helpful,
Thnaks and regards,
Rajeshwar.

It depends up on client requirement, some times it should be there ex: while creating Number ranges.

Hi,
This surely depend on the clients. Consultants generally get display authorizations for SPRO settings. But their are some clients who dont provide the display authorization also.
As a consultant , we should not touch any transactional data. We can ask for display authorizations of SPRo settings as this will help us to resolve issue in case of production support.

Amit
Hello,
Purely depend upon the client, functional area and the consultant. But most of the time there will be display access to the production system with a generic user ID.
Some times the production access will be given to APO consultants and BW people. Otherise we need to request for the userID / Password with a proper reason.
