Hi friends this is shyam, can anybody please tell me what is batch management ? not batch determination.
Batch is nothing but management of materials in batch so that during availabilty check they can be picked up correctly. Usually not all materials from a particular assembly line would have the same charateristics. So to differentiate between their characteristics the production differentiates these similar material in batches.
Batch Management can be done in a sales module, inventory management and production planning module (shop floor) level.
You can view batches and their characteristics in tcode BMBC.
Thanks

Grouping and Management of Products according to similar characterstics is batch, for example - Material production in case of processing industry uses certain sets of processes and parameters or environment variables like temperature, gas mixtures, input chemicals etc and produce an output material in bulk with special characterstics termed as a batch
Other examples of batch could be a batch of students or shipment batches or managing warehouse stock in batches or management of financial portfolio with similar characterstics is also sometimes termed as a Portfolio Batch.
