Marketing Planner: Campaign does not start

Hi Experts,

I have trouble with the Marketing Planner Campaign Automization.

I have created a campaign that should send an eMail at regular intervals.

So I did create a campaign element and configured it as described in SAP help (via Java Applet):

Brief overview of my configuration:

Basic data: external id, short text, no workflow selected

Status: Approved

Channel: As communication medium i choose eMail, i entered a sender and the email formular.

I also added a segment that contains some business partners.

Whenever I save the application no errors are displayed but when I try to start the campaign I get the error message: Campaign &1: Campaign was not started. On details it says: Message number: CRM_MKTCA_EXECUTION009.

Any Ideas what could be wrong? The campaign automization does not work for any marketing campaign in our system. If I start the campaign element from SAP GUI (Via Target Group to Channel) it works perfectly, but I need the automization.

Hi Rainer,

Please activate the workflow templates for campaign automation. This will definitely work. I am sure you would have released the campaign.

Problem solved. Sorry for my late reply, but first my SDN User was locked and then my internet was broken :'o(.

It really was a workflow customizing problem. I forgot to add a user role under menu point "Implement workflow customizing". Now everything works just fine!

Hello Rainer,

i got a question concerning starting a marketing campaign.

Is there somewhere a button that says "start campaign"?

We have chosen our target group and want to send it now via E-Mail. (first manually)

Do you knwo you to realize that?

Yes, "start campaign" button is available in campaign automation screen.

If you just want to send an email, then attach the email form in channel tab, assign the target group and then in the top tool bar in Mkt planner > extras > click on target group to channel.

This will send the email to all the BP in target group you have assigned.

hi

to execute the campaign you need to release it not just approve it

just go and check inside the campaign if there is any partner dependency ,if yes then check whether your PDP is runnning successfully inside it

else just release and execute the campaign and mails will be send then
