Gurus please tell me what is value updation for plant...why do we do it...

Hello,

Valuated plant means, the material stock valuation will be taken based on the plant.

If you want to activate the value updation for a particular material type in a plant you need to go to transaction OMS2, select the material type, check the value updation box against your valuation area (Plant).

The Value updation specifies that the material is managed on a value basis in the material master record for the valuation area concerned.

The values are updated in the respective G/L accounts at the same time.
