ADS Issue has me stumped...

Former Member

I have an open message with SAP since Thursday of last week, but as of yet there's been no response. All I can assume is that the message was assigned to someone who is on vacation...

Anyway, perhaps someone here can give some insight:

We continuously get the following messages while trying to connect to

ADS:

running program FP_TEST_00 and FP_PDF_TEST_00 we get the login box three times before it errors out.

when running the test at http://sapdev:50000/AdobeDocumentServices/Config

We get the same thing, but the correct User/Password for the ADSUSER does not work in either case.

If I change the RFC user to J2EE_ADMIN instead of ADSUSER, the login box problem does not occur, but the FP_TEST_00 report hangs after entering the spool information.

Also, when running the connection test for the RFC Destination ADS, a

dialog box appears twice asking to accept or reject cookies. Could this possibly be causing the hanging session while running the FP_TEST_00 report?

Also I have run the trace according to SAP Note 846610...

Hi,

You have to create the communication user in the client in which you want to use ADS services. The user should be ADS_AGENT and the role for this user should be SAP_BC_FP_ICF.

You have to use the ads_agent and password for testing the

http://sapdev:50000/AdobeDocumentServices/Config

I also suggest you to check on which java support pacakge stack u r system is.Also check the http://service.sap.com/spam for whether sap supports ads for your platform.

Also refer to the note 944221.

Revert me back if any issues.

Regards,

Vamshi.

Thank you vamshi polasa,

I have tried what you suggested, and followed 944221 previously.

I think the issue may be related to the default client in Java is not the same as the productive client.

Refer to note 937323.

I will let you know if this indeed the root cause.

Hi,

Thats not a problem actually,

Once check ur visual admin in the serverservicesdestination

do u have any entry for http connection there shuold be an destination for http connection with the name fp_sid_xx

some thing like this which is mentioned in the note.

Here use the ads_agent which is created in the client you are trying to use it.

Vamshi.

Well, we have finally got the ADSUSER to work correctly.

The defualt client for Java was pointing at 001 even though 100 is our actual default client.

Note 937323 rsolved that issue. Once we pointed Java to the correct default client and created the appropriate users with the appropriate roles, it started working correctly... to a point.

The test program FP_TEST_00 is still running indefinitely without any response.

Well, there's a good reason it had me stumped: it wasn't supposed to work as installed.

The Java components of the system were outdated and the ADS version was too old.

After applying SP13 for Java and ADS version 8, it works like a charm.
