IR & ID Starting problems

Hello All

I have a strange issue starting the IR and ID, when I click on the "Start Integration Builder" it starts a browser session but somehow doesnt start the java web start and thus showing an error page in IE. I tried installing different SDKs (1.4.2.09 and 1.4.2.10) and changed the path variable in environment variables but still I get the same error.

I have installed 1.4.2.09 on my other windows xp machine and it works fine, but the same doesnt work on windows 2000 professional. I have read the blog by Sudhir and tried everything suggested in this forum without any success. Is there anything that I am missing which is causing this? If anyone encountered the same problem please suggest me a way to resolve this.

Thanks for the link but I had already visited the thread. The reason I wasnt able to start was I connect to a VPN server and thus had to add the XI server info in the 'hosts' file in C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc. After I updated the same it works.
