will Business Area determination affection the account determination process ? why should know business area determination rule in SD module ?

Business area determines the profitability of that particular area as per our configuration

We do business area determination to know the profitability at plant level or at sales area level.

If the company wants to know the profitability of that material in a particular region at that plant level then we need to do business are determination at plant level. In the similar way if the company wants to know th profitability of that material in a particular sales area then we assign a business area at sales area level.

For your information:

• If you do not specify a rule for a sales area, account determination cannot be carried out for each business area.

In the standard SAP R/3 System, three rules are predefined for automatically allocating business areas during revenue account determination:

• Rule 1: Business area determination from plant and item division

• Rule 2: Business area determination from sales area

• Rule 3: Business area determination from sales organization, distribution channel and item division
