Hi,

check sap note 551915 - R/3 won't start after database restore or database copy

you need to execute script attached to note.

Thanks for your response

the system is coming up without any problems. The only problem iam having is when iam trying connect o the database in the prepare phase of the Upgrade to ERP6.It requires a database user of which iam specifying SIDadm which is logging on to SQL2005 under windows authntication without any problem. Its refusing that SIDadm.

Any ideas are welcome

Hi,

database user should be sid ( Your SAP system id in small caps in your case it's bly )

Hi

i have tried that but its not connecting.i have checked the log file MSSCONCHECK and has these entries:

Msg 15157, Level 16, State 1, Server ZALI-SAP05, Line 1

Setuser failed because of one of the following reasons: the database principal 'bly' does not

exist, its corresponding server principal does not have server access, this type of database

principal cannot be impersonated, or you do not have permission.

If i log into the straight into the database as BLY i log in without any problem but through PREPARE it failing.

Hi,

use sap tools

check Note 683447 - SAP Tools for MS SQL Server

check Note 98678 - SQL Server Connection Issues
