Customer name length

Dear all,

in standard the chanracter legth of the customer name is 40 but it is allowing only 35 how to remove that restrictions or increase the length.

Points will be rewarded

In SAP standard, the length of customer name is 35.

To check yourself, go to transaction SE11, enter database table as KNA1 and click display.

Check the field Name1 which indicates Length of this field as 35 and data type as character.

It is possible to increase field length but you would have to discuss with your ABAP consultant.

SAP does not recommend modifications of its standard tables, programs etc.

One option would be to create custom table that meets your requirement but that is work of ABAP developer.

that is our experience as well. wasn't aware if i used special keys, but the limit seems to be consistent at 35 characters.

You might be using SPECIAL CHARECTERS AND SPACE ALONG WITH THE DESCRIPTION thats why its taking 35 chrecters only

I had same issue of increasing the lengh, you can not increase it as this is SAP standard. And if you want to increase this then you need to take ACESS KEY FROM SAP ITSELF, which sap dosn't allow
