Using Guest user for Visual Composer

Hi everybody,

Can we use "guest" or one unique portal user to show a report from VC to everyone?

Thanks...

Hi,

Actually you can't... You can read note 985983 that says it.

Do I have any chance

Hi,

No it hasn't... We are talking about the main server part of VC and it haven't been changed for quite a while.

In order to get this functionality, you need to set the permissions on the VC broker (the server part) to accept requests from a guest user. This causes a very big security hole in your application, because this means that anyone can run BAPIS/WebServices/JDBC SP on your data.

Natty

Hi Govindu,

I see that if I want to use RFC's with visual composer, I must use a user from portal same as SAP user.

But, in our portal we need to use Guest user and run some RFC's.

So, I need to run RFC's from VC with guest user for everyone.

Did I explain it?

Hi,

yes you can use that user to open the VC and consume the RFcs.

Just assign the VC role to that User and do the user mapping for that RFc to this user.

Hi Altug,

Create a R/3 System in the portal to connect with the backend R/3 and call the RFCs. Do the user mapping for the system alias of the newly created R/3 system. Now you can execute the RFCs in VC.

Hope you are using "Guest" as Portal and VC logon ID.

Shemim
