SAP Comunication Errors CPIC 20 SAP=472

Hi experts,

In sm21 im vahinv a lot of users with this error: "SAP Comunication Errors CPIC 20 SAP=472".

Searchin i found that this error is relate to :

CM_PRODUCT_SPECIFIC_ERROR 20 and

C_NO_SIDE_INFO_ENTRY 472 No side info entry

Could any one explaim me what is C_NO_SIDE_INFO_ENTRY and how to solve this errors and their maassive disconections?

Hi Daniel,

the error C_NO_SIDE_INFO_ENTRY shows, that you are trying to use external RFC-Communication. This can be controlled by the sideinfo file in order to limit that ...

Information on this file can be obtained at e.g.:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_40b/helpdata/en/c6/892bca449311d1893e0000e8323c4f/content.htm

The name and location of this file is controlled by gw/side_info - the default is typically:

/usr/sap/sid/DVEBMGSnn/data/sideinfo

If this file does NOT exist, there is no check at all !

=> Everything is allowed.

If this file exists empty (a trick for a homo copy of PRD in order to prevent external RFCs), nothing is allowed - this might be your issue. Then you should delete this file.

If you want to use that, you have to add more entries as described in the docu above.

The file is empty and is marked as not usefull, what can i do to the system for prevent this error?

Also yes this system borns from a homogeneous system copy.

proceed as Mr. Volker Gueldenpfennig suggested

either you can delete the file or check the following example for sideinfo

Hi,

CPIC error is related to communication.

please provide you system information

i.e SAP version, kernel patch level
