Item Category Determination

Hi Gurus,

We know that Item Category Determination = Document Type + Gen. Item Category + Item Usage + Higher level Item Category.

Where are we defining this Item Usage (CHSP - Batch Split, FREE - Free Goods etc.) in R/3.

The item category usuage MENU PATH IS as follows-

SPRO>SD> SALES->SALES DOCUMENT->Sales Document Item--->Define Item Category Usage.

Item category usuage defines the usuage of an item like if an item is free or used for batch split or text item etc.

You can define this in the followin gpath.

SPRO-SD-SALES-SALES DOCUMENTS-SALES DOCUMENT ITEM-----DEFINE ITEM CATEGORY USAGE

This indicator can be used for determination of item categories, where you can use it to control which other item categories are to be found in a certain environment.

Go to VD52 and select any item maintained there where you will find a field "Item Usage".
