SAP 4.6C Installation in Cluster error - Oracle 10g HPUX 11.23

Hi all,

We are installing 4.6C in oracle 10g/hpux 11.23 in a cluster environment in primary node.

During the last phase of installation, I get the below error.

But I am able to start SAP manually using startsap and its successfull.

Can someone help me, what the above error is?

Hi Senthil,

I had the same problem installing 4.6C in cluster environment. Finally I solved the issue by adding this line in profile <SID>_DVEBMGS00_<VIRTUAL_HOSTNAME>:

SAPLOCALHOST = <VIRTUAL_HOSTNAME>

Then, restart sap. Please ensure you modify all profiles in /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/ and all <sid>adm $HOME files, in order to use the virtual_hostname instead of the real_hostname.

After I did these changes, I launched again R3SETUP and installation completed succesfully!!.

Check 946141 - Inst. SAP Systems on UX/Oracle 10.2 with R3SETUP

This is a special setup for 4.6c.

Do an "ls -lt | head" in your installation directory and check the latest logfiles for errors.

I read the note, and also I have installaed 4.6C/oracle 10g/hpux11.23 for more than 4 servers and it was successfull.

But this time I am installing in a cluster environment. So I am facing this issue. When I checked in the install directory with ls -lrt the last file isdatabase.log

Also when I logged into the SAP and I can see some error messages in sm21

Its like I am able to display SCC4, when I change to change mode, I get the below error message

"System error: Unable to lock table/view T000"

You can try to add the parameter

rdisp/msserv = sapms<SID>

to the affected server and restart the instance and retry.

Make sure "sapms<SID>" is in /etc/services with the correct port.

Is 4.6C even compatible with Oracle 10? I dont think it is.

SAP 4.6 is out of mainstream support. Make sure your kernel is 10 ready,.

Check if dba group is assigned with the sidadm and orasid user.

In section DBR3START_IND_ORA, change the key

OPTIONS=@HOME@/startsap... to

OPTIONS=<home directory of user sidadm>/startsap....

It is not working my issue is, I am installing in a cluster with the floating host dbciR3Pd.

While installing I gave the hostname as "dbciR3Pd" and did the installation. Now I check that at

/home/r3padm, I can see the startsap script as

Is the Oracle DB Installed. If so, start the DB and try to install again
