Permission denied

We insatlled for first time an Linux Red hat 4.1 on an Vmware machine. Nothing special(mostly clicking next)and having user root.

Now with user root we try to run(install XI) ./sapinst of Netveawer installation DVD. We have now problem “Permission denied”.

Does anyone have an idea how to proceed.

Hi,

Login with <sid>adm and check the all required media have the All rights (Read, Write and Execute).

Also check the ownership of media.

Then with excute the instalaltion masetr DVD with ./instalaltion master.

Hello Tina,

If you have NFS moutned the DVD from somewhere else, this error could be possible.

Where does your install DVD reside ?
