Was the file downloaded successfully?

Try update the the SAPCAR.

Check Note 892842 - SAPCAR error: format error in header.

Try

SAPCAR -xvf "/usr/sap/tmp/DBATL640O92_48-20000198.SAR"

Check the permission of the tmp <dir> and the file

or

copy SAPCAR to /usr/sap/tmp and extract there

Try this.

I am not very much sure about AIX

but as per linux box i am giving you the following suggestion

check the ownership of downloaded CAR or SAPCAR etc.

login as root

cd location of downloaded files

ls -lrth path of files

chown prdadm.prdadm * #this must be the location where you have downloaded the files

not try the SAPCAR -xvf /usr/sap/tmp/DBATL640O92_48-20000198.SAR

If still have problem please revert

Thanks and Regards,

use SAPCAR 700...as it is downward compatible you can use it to extract 640 sar files
