Dear Friends,
I am trying to update my brtools patch level.I download DBATL640O92_48-20000198.SAR file
.but when i am trying to extract this file ,i get a message
+ FORMAT ERROR IN HEADER+
After that i update my SAPCAR tool, than it gives
an error
program is to big
But i have more than 30 G.B free space

Was the file downloaded successfully?
Try update the the SAPCAR.
Check Note 892842 - SAPCAR error: format error in header.

SAPCAR: 0 file(s) extracted+
I placed this file in usr/sap/tmp than now tell me that path is given by me is wrong.
I am giving a path.
#tegaprd:prdadm 6>cd /usr/sap/PRD/SYS/exe/run
tegaprd:prdadm 6>SAPCAR -xvf /usr/sap/tmp/DBATL640O92_48-20000198.SAR
Please tell me where am i wrong.
i am working on AIX operating System

Try this.
I am not very much sure about AIX
but as per linux box i am giving you the following suggestion
check the ownership of downloaded CAR or SAPCAR etc.
login as root
cd location of downloaded files
ls -lrth path of files
chown prdadm.prdadm * #this must be the location where you have downloaded the files
not try the SAPCAR -xvf /usr/sap/tmp/DBATL640O92_48-20000198.SAR
If still have problem please revert
