Hi SD-experts,
We sell materials that are nearing its best before date with a special order type.
Our planning/purchasing dept don't want this sales to add to the requirements they use to plan their procurement.
As I understand it, one way to achieve this is to assign a separate item category to these order items and via the requirement type and requirement class config connect this sale to a resuirement class which don't transfer requirements. Alternatively control it via the schedule line category? Is this correct?
A consultant working with this issue earlier have written some texts about updating special kinds of consumption and not use this consumption in planning. What are your thoughts about that?
Somebody that can advice me?
best regards,
Glenn Karlsson
Hi,
If the material needs to be excluded from requirements always then the option mentioned by Murtuza Khaja should work. Control it at material master level.
If the exclusion needs to be for a particular Sales order type ,then the Item category option mentioned by you should work.

Hello Glenn,
One more option you could try is by maintaining NO Planning in the MRP Type field in the MRP1 View of the Material Master.
Thanks
Murtuza
