Project scheduling considering Prod orders.

Hai,

The senario is as under

Assume 'A' as internally manufactured item, which has B,C,D as its child compnents and D is a sub assly with D.1 , D.2 and D.3 as its child components.

In Project structure, componet 'A' is assigned to an activity. Material requirement date is aligned to finish date of activity.

When MRP is run, Planned order will be generated with requirement date accordingly.

Assume if there is a 2 days delay in procurement of D.3 component , which will delay production of D by 4 days. In such case , during the next scheduling run of the Project, the scheduled finish of the activity must be updated as per the delay occurred.

The delay in procurement and/or in any child prod order should show up in scheduled dates of the actvities , to which parent component is assigned.

Appreciate your suggesstions.

Thanks

Saikishore Ganga.

Hi Saikishore,

I donot think that the functionality you expected can be fulfilled with the SAP PS scheduling. In fact, the PS scheduling (determine the activity dates) does not take the material component (or production orders) into account. Actually, the dates of activities determine the requirement days of the material component, not inversely.

In case that the during MRP run, the requiement dates can not be granted, the communcation between the two groups have to be done. An autom. update of the PS side make less sense in my point of view.

P.S: You find more information about PS scheduling in 151551.

Kind regards,
