Migration of NWDI

Hello All,

We need your expert Help.

We are on JDI 7 SP12. We have our CRM 5.0 application instances which are connected to the JDI instance for development of our E-commerce application.

Right now we have the JDI/NWDI instance only connected to our CRM application. But now we have a Central NWDI server on a different host with a separate DTR, CBS & CMS which is catering to all the Java developments and is used by all the SAP instances.

We are planning to de-commission the existing NWDI/JDI instance and move to the central NWDI.

But we are not sure how to go about on this? Whats the level of effort required for this. Is there any document for this? What are the steps to be followed for this? What will be the impact of this on the existing developments?

Pointers are eagerly awaited and would be surely rewarded.

Thanks in advance.

Warm Regards

Rajeet

Hi Rajeet,

The following steps will help you to migrate to the central NWDI -

1. Assemble all the developed SCs in your current NWDI.

2. In your central NWDI, create a track and specify the developed SC (use the same name that was used in your earlier NWDI.)

3. Copy the assembled SCs from the old NWDI into the transport folder of the central NWDI.

4. Check in and import the SCs into the new track in the central NWDI. (This step is similar to the one you perform for importing the SAP delivered build plugins into your track )

Hope this helps-

Hi Vin,

Thanks a lot for your help.

I assume these steps should be enough for migrating the NWDI to another host. We would also be changing the SLD in the new NWDI host, do we need to do any major changes here in w.r.t SLD?

Many Thanks Again.

Warm Regards

Hi Ranjeet,

You need to configure the new SLD with all the SC and product information. Nothing more should be required in the new SLD.

Hope this helps.
