NetWeaver 2004s Usage Type DI (NWDI) Installation

Former Member

Hello,

I've installed a NetWeaver 2004s with Usage Type Development Infrastructure (DI).

I have found an post installation guide for 2004s SLD but no for 2004s NWDI (DI). The only post installation guide that I've found is for NetWeaver 04. But NWDI 2004s has solid changes. I can't use the guide from NetWeaver 04.

Exists a NWDI Post Installation Guide von NetWeaver 2004s? Anyone knows how to setup NWDI on 2004s?

Greetings

Thomas

MIchael,

I read 737368 and it says for scenario 2+, you can install on a test server. In the 2004s Master upgrade guide, page 88, it states you can install NWDI on the "source" server prior to the upgrade, which I always look at as development. We are performaing a BW to BI 7 upgrade and BI Java install and are trying to find the proper home for NWDI.

Thanks,

Paul

Hello,

the post installation guide for 2004s is not separately exported as it was for 2004. It is available online under the following <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/44/60dc1943c2311ce10000000a155369/frameset.htm">link</a>.

Hi Ramakrishna,

Is it required to install NWDI on seperate server? Or is it recommended? Also if we are going to modify Employee Self-Service and Manager Self-Service is it ok to use the same server? Please suggest.

follow the Note 964988 - BIPostInstallProcess not visbile in template installer..

point 3.

3. Check whether the property "usage" contains the value "BI-Java:DI:EP:MI:PI". The value "BI-Java" must always be contained.

you can use "DI" to replace it.

It works.

Hi,

You need to install the JDI separately. Go to http://service.sap.com/patches -> Entry by Application Group -> SAP Net Weaver -> SAP NETWEAVER -> SAP NETWEAVER 04 -> NWDI -> JDI 6.40 -> #OS independent

https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/instguidesnw04 (installation guide)

https://media.sdn.sap.com/public/eclasses/nwbcil/Java_Development_Infrastructures_files/Default.htm#... (webinar)

I've written that I use NetWeaver 2004s! NetWeaver 04 uses WAS 6.40. NetWeaver 2004s uses WAS 7.0. You can not install

JDI (NWDI / DI) separately on NetWeaver 2004s. The installation is no problem. The post installation step are problematical because no guide exist. Guides for NetWeaver 04 I can not use.

Paragraph 2.4.16 of the SAP NetWeaver 2004s - Installation Documentation may give you more info and links. You can find this documentation here: http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700003113992005E.HTM

Hmmm... I've check the help.sap.com link that is mentioned there, but the path mentioned does not exist. Well done!

I had read paragraph 2.4.16 but there is incomplete. Now the DI is running:

1. configure SLD manually

2. run template installer for DI

Hi,

The template installer can be found in the SAP Netweaver Administrator which is present in Web AS home page.. The rest I assume it already makes sense..
