encountered error while starting server. pls guide

hi,

friends i have been getting this error number of times, i have been trying to restart the server and this is repeating.

Hi Satish,

Check the log "dev_w0" at /usr/sap/<SID>/..../work, it will give you the complete idea. If you can't figure out the prob. just paste that file here. I think you should try for OS reboot of the sys. as well , it helps in most of the times.

hi hari,

actually i have gone thru couple of log's & found that there was some problem with the oralistner.

so tried to restart the oralistner as we ll as other oracle services, now the server has started and seems to be fine.

but i still couldnt figure out the exact prob, cause i have been facing the same problem since long time. every time i start the server i have to restart many times.

could you tell me why this is occuring frequently?

It can be memory problem too where your error logs get stored.

hi, i am using 2003 server
