Cant we use custom Idocs in XI.if so how will we get Message types ...

you can import the custom idocs to XI the same way you import the standard Idocs to XI and use them directly as your MT and Mesg. interface.

Hi,

The custom IDOC can be imported in to XI under EXTERNAL DEFINITIONS.The same can be used for creating the Message type and Message interface.

Hey,

These are he steps to create customized Idoc.

Idoc Creation

WE31 Create a segment.

WE32 Create Basic type.

WE81 Create message type.

WE82 Relate message type and basic type.

Once done import it in your XI.

based on your requirement(sender/reciever) use the idoc as message type as well as message interface.
