Installing CCMS on a new system. System entry not found in RZ20CEN aftr reg

Hi Guys,

I am trying to install CCMS for our systems. I have made all the configurations as per the "Monitoring Setup Guide

(CEN SAP Net Weaver7.0 SPS 13)" document and refered all the help.sap.com doc's for configuring ccms.

I have registered the system with the CEN and I see the entry for my system in CEN in RZ21. but in RZ20 on CEN I donot see the entry for my system.

Do I need to add this manually in RZ20? Or did I miss something. If some one has come accross this plz help.

Hi Kunal,

here is some useful information for you which you said cannot be acheived using the SAP Templates. Actually it can be achieved.

Just copy the SAP template. Then change the rules to accept all the systems or you can even create a groups.

So you can see your systems even in the SAP templates.

Hi,

After regestering your ccms agent and the user csmreg u have to start the service at os level if it is windows system

you have to start it using the services and set it to automatic.

Hi Vamshi,

I am on AIX. The service is started and running.In RZ21 on CEN i see my system is there in the list of monitored SAP systems.

But on RZ20 on CEN I don't see my registered system.

Manmath,

You will need to add your monitored system in RZ20. Here is what you will need to do

1. Go to RZ20

2. Activate mantainence functions from Extras

3. Click Create

4. Name the monitor set (ECC/BI etc)

5. Select the required options on the next screen (It is self explanatory)

6. The defined MTE is then added to the User Defined MTEs

7. Click the MTE that you just created and click Create again

8. Now you will see all the system that the CEN can see.

9. Select the MTEs that you want to montior and save

I had just done that when I received your reply.I refered to to the thread

Now, I have added the system to the new monitor set.

I want to use the templates provided by SAP to set up the alerts (monitor).

There are templates like

SAP CCMS Monitor Templates

SAP CCMS Monitors for Optional Components

SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors

SAP CCMS Technical Operations Templates

How can I use the template SAP CCMS Monitor Templates ?

Manmath,

As far as I know, you cannot copy the Templates if you do it via the CEN. However, everything that the Templates have, is present when you copy over the system

Try checking in these places in RZ20

<SID>\<hostname>\

Operating System (for Filesystem Alerts, CPU etc)

R3Services (for Dialog and Background wp)

<SID>\Oracle

Space Management (for Database)

Performance (for Database)

You will need to copy all and select the MTEs you need to monitor or just select the MTEs that you need and assign autoreactions to them.

Also, dig through the list a little bit. You should be able to find everything that you need in it,
