.NET Connector 2.0.1: Server Explorer only shows SAP Servers, no functions

hi,

after having installed the .NET Connector 2.0.1, i wanted to create a proxy for several BAPIs.

I could add connections to the SAP root node in the server explorer (either by using the local ini or by filling all parameters). But i'm not able to get al list of functions or a 'bor' node.

Do i need to check any permissions in SAP?

You don't have child-nodes in you SAP Server node (like "BOR" or "Functions")? This sounds like you have either the wrong edition of VS or something went wrong during install. Here some questions:

- Which edition of VS do you have (standard, book, professional, enterprise architect)?

- Did you have NCo 1.x installed before?

If yes, did you uninstall it before?

- Can you paste the list of DLLs that start with "SAP" in GAC (c:\windows\assembly) and IDE (c:\program files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Common7\IDE)?

I checked all your hints (and came one step further, as described below):

1) I use Visual Studio 2003 enterprise Architect (on Win 2000 SP 4)

2) NCO 1 was installed (worked fine) and i did uninstall it.

I tried to uninstall NCO 2.0 and reinstalled it, and surprisingly, now i can see a 'bor' and a 'functions' node under my SAP Connection. But now, when i try to create a filter, VS gives me a error-message: "Name oder Kennwort ist nicht korrekt (Bitte Anmeldung wiederholen" (name or password incorrect, please retry).

After 3 trials, my Session is disconnected and my account is locked.

I tried several variations of upper- and lower-case in username and password, but nothing helped. (Of course, i can work with my account in my sap-gui, for example in se80..)

Any hints are welcome.

Maybe you forgot to enter the correct client (e.g. 800).

The default in NCo is 0 which means that no client is transfered. SAPGUI has a different behaviour.

For this exceptions there is only 3 possible reasons:

- bad client

- wrong username / password.

- case problems: If backend is case-sensitive you need a case-sensitive LIBRFC32 (version 6.40) on the client. The version that comes with NCo is, but maybe it's replaced. If the backend is not case-sensitive and your NCo is, you may need to enter the password all-UPPERCASE.
