Long Time BRBACKUP

Hi,

from few days we have a long time execution of our BRBACKUP with online_cons options. Database has not a particular grow... more or less it is at the same size.

BRBACKUP in offline mode has the same time execution.

Solaris 10 UltraSPARC, Oracle 9.2.0.7, BRTOOLS 6.40 (patch 46) and SAP R/3 4.6C

Have you got any idea ?

Hi Ganimede,

is it possible that you switched the mount option forcedirectio on lately? If yes, switch it off and set the Oracle option filesystemio_options=setall (check note #999524 for restrictions).

Hi again,

I probably forgot to mention that the mount option is important, not the Oracle option. The Oracle option makes the mount option unnecessary. Did you checked your mount options too?

I'm facing the same problem with my system. I noticed that it occurs after the offline backup, the statistics run for a long time.

Did you find a solution for it?

No errors or warning... only long time execution... but if I check the ST06 CPU history ... is quite normal... same as normal. This is last history:

online brbackup starts at 23:00 and ends next day at 5:30... but from few days ends at 11:00 and it is not nice.

hello,

are you backing up to a tape or is it a disk ? I guess there could be a problem with the media used for backup or the device that is holding the media (tape drive).

On disk... and when I execute it offline running time is the same as usual.

In the alert there are only begin/end backup and log switch message.

Hi. Are you create the "Update statistics" and "check DB"

every day ? Try to Check DB in DB13, are the errors or warnings or not? Regards.
