PI Monitoring configuration error with CCMSR agent

Former Member
0 Kudos

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to configure my monitoring according to How to Monitor Exchange Infrastructure (NW7.0).

I have registered the CCMSR agent accordingly, but when I check its status, it says "SHUTDOWN".

I did the registration from the Visual Admin and it was ok. The automatic registration also creates

an T type RFC with the name N3STAT.XXXHOST.INSTANCENO. When I test the connection, I get the

error message:

ERROR: program host.n3stat.instance not registered

What could be the cause for this?

Thanks.

Gökhan

Hello,

On the following link, i think i found your problem.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/d3/d9f455c9be924caf96e1c0985ca8ff/frameset.htm

The agent registers error-free as a service. However, the service does not start or terminates immediately (Microsoft Windows).

A service under Microsoft Windows always starts in the System32 directory. So that the system can find any existing profile files, you must always specify these with a full path.

Deregister the service (for example, with sapccm4x –U), and reregister it, specifying the profile with the complete path.

Hope that helps.

Regards,

Siddhesh

Oh, what a stupid thing..:)

I started the sapccmsr service from the windows services manually and it all got fixed..

I appreciate your help very much Siddhesh, this page will definitely help with the agent issues.

I did provide full profile path(if this means providing the full path of the instance profile like "D:\usr\sap\sys\profile\profile_name" while registering the agent manually from the command prompt) but I have other issues with hostname and fully qualified host name. The RFC error might be because of an inconsistency. I will try to install my system from scratch with the correct settings, maybe this will also get solved.

I'm giving you full points for your help.

I can't see any errors there with my current trace level. When I do increase it, billions of lines comes up.

It's kinda hard to identify the problem from those..

Hello,

Can you check the Gateway trace in SMGW, it should shed some light on what seems to be blocking the RFC.

Hello,

Can you post the log output when you registered the agent in Visual admin.

In RZ21 , agents overview, select the system entry and do a test using the test button displayed.

Regards,

Siddhesh
