Changing the Printer IP in 4.0b version

Hi All,

We have to change the IP address of one of the printer in SAP 4.0 b version. In SPAD I coundn't find where I can change the IP address. I know the process in ECC.But here the version is 4.0b can nebody tell the way to change the IP of a particular printer.....its very urgent.

Hi,

AS far as i know there is no configuration of printer ip in the sap system.SAP will just pass the print request to os spooler so need not worry about changing ip.

Here I see no IP based configuration, instead they use printer hostname.

Hi All,

Printer configuration is already done......but client has asked us to change the IP of that printer ...OS we are using is AS/400 ...Can you guys tell what has to be done ...If SAP is recognizing the printer on the basis of HOSTNAME then is there sumthing we need to change ?

If SPAD is using the hostname, then just change the printer IP at OS level and thats it.

No changes needed in the printer config on the SAP side.
