Hello colleagues,
we encountered the following requirements during some MDM project. Customer wants to hide or unhide fields, records, hierarchy nodes depending on user rights.
Is it possible to realize for MDM rich client? I found only possibility to handle to types of access (Read-only and Read/Write).
Hope for your help.
Konstantin.
Hi,
It is possible to "hide" records but it is not possible to hide fields. To "hide" records, please have a look at the MDM Console documentation and look for constraints. This explains how to limit access to main table records based on the value of one or many lookup fields in the main table. It's done in the Admin node in the MDM Console.
Hope this helps,
Richard

Hi Konstantin,
The Standard MDM Roles does not permit to hide fields. One option for this is to use the Enterprise Portal and utilize the Standard MDM iViews that came with SP2 & SP3 instead of the standard Data Manager client.
For Hierarchies, hiding Child nodes is possible. Check Under Roles, Click on Functions tab and under Hierarchy, you will find a function "Hide Children".
Hope this helps.
