The transport is terrible slow, how to terminate hand-over transport

Dear SAPers,

Our transport from BWQ to BWP is terrible slow, even both of these two system are new installation, and there are tens of transports are hand-over with 'Import Running' status.

1. How to improve the performance of transport.

2. How to terminate the hand-over transport.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi,

Transports in BW system can be a problem as it contains huge data and there are lot of activities which happen while activating dictionary objects.

What you can check in the SLOG , ALOG that there is any error during transport , which is blocking something.

Check the OS level if the tp job is running , check the contents of TRJOB ,TRBAT table .these tables are used while transport is done.

you can terminate a running transport by killing the tp job at OS level.

Check the DB alert log , if you find any errors there.

sm21 is the best place to see for any errors.

Thanks

Dear Prasanna,

Thanks for your suggestions.

Even if we restrat the OS, the transport is still on the same status 'Import Running', the TRUCK.

Hi,

Did you find any error in SLOG or ALOG or in sm21 ? If not then

Try to delete the imports from the Import Monitor.

Then you will be able to at least restart the imports...

And delete the entries from TRBAT and TRJOB tables and start your import again.

Award if useful.

hi,

I hope you are running on Unix.

Do the steps

1) ps-ef|grep tp

it will show the process id(pid) of the OS process which is running the tp at SAP level.

2) kill -9 pid

That should terminate the tp running continoulsy.

Thanks

Hi,

The reason the TRUCK is running even when you restart the OS is because the tp programs is automatically restarted when the SAP system starts.

did you try to do a kill -9 pid at OS level.

thanks
