BR0160E Unexpected symbol 'PRE___' found for parameter '<unknown>'

Erre reading BR*Tools profile.

I have checked the profile, commente out everything and as soon as I uncomment 1 line I get this error.

Has anyone seen this before, it is drving me crazy!

Thanks

Scott

Hello,

As per SAP Note 17163 - BRARCHIVE/BRBACKUP messages and codes

Following is the explanation for your error:

BR0160E Unexpected symbol '%s' found for parameter %s.
BR0160E Unerwartetes Symbol '%s' fuer Parameter %s gefunden.
Explanation: A syntax error was found when reading a parameter.
Program reaction: Processing terminates.
User action: Correct the syntax.

Please check if your initPRE.utl contains any 'PRE___' like characters.

Siddhesh

Hi,

Thanks for the replies.

The initPRE.utl does contain PRE___ which was added as part of the TDP install as the following line.

BACKUPIDPREFIX PRE___

If i coment out this line, it fails on the next and so on.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks

Scott

Hello Scott,

looks like you copy pasted few parameters into your profile file.

copy pasting sometimes introduces wrong characters, especially in UNIX, it matters a lot.

I would suggest that you remove all those lines you added and re-add them manually.

It would also be good to start off with your backed up copy of the profile.

Siddhesh
