Hi Experts,
What is the Sold to party and Ship to Party?
What is the difference between Sold to party and Ship to Party?
Reg,
Vineela
In addtition to above suppose you have customer who is having his 10 locations in country, HO at mumbai, plant at pune, nagpur, delhi, etc
Now Mumbai HO is placing the order so its SOLD TO PARTY
and he has asked to deliver material at pune and nagpur so pune n nagpur is SHIP - TO PARTY
SOLD TO PARTY IS THAT WHICH IS PLACING THE ORDER
SHIP TO PARTY IS THAT WHICH IS RECIVING THE MATERIAL
Regards

Hi
These are called the partner functions. There are number of Partner functions in SAP. In plain language- it is the duty that is performed by that customer. The important partner functions are,
SP - Sold to party - the customer who places the order
SH - Ship to Party - the customer who receives the stock
BP - Bill to Party - the customer who receives the Bill for the goods purchased
PY - Payer - the customer who pays for the bill
The same customer can perform all the above four partner functions. Sometimes they may differ also. eg, the customer order for the stock(SP) and asks the company to send the stock to his dealer(SH).
Hope it is clear.
Thanks,
Ravi

Hi,
in any sale transaction legally there r 4 partners involved,
eg:
party who ordered the goods - sold to
the one who receive these ordered goods, - ship to
3rd one, who gets the bill to pay- bill to & the last one who clears this amount for received goods- payer
all these 4 partners in sap called as partner functions.
Sold -to party is nothing but who places orders.
who actually have the agreement for the transaction of sales ,receiving those ordered goods & clear the amount.
One sold to can act as all the above partners.
where ship to party can act as receiving partner to recieve the goods. & this partner can't have the rights to place the order.
if you want this ship to can place orders- he/she has to update as sold to ( as sold to is heighest partner among the other partners)
*u ll get more replies-
