Hi Experts,

What is the significance for MALA, RETA ( storage location) rules?

Can any one create their own storage location rules with their own names??In delivery documents (SPRO) it is displaying in not modifiable ( Grey) mode. How can we get that? I s this the work of Abapers?

Difference between the picking locations - MALA , RETA & MARE

MALA enables you to determine the picking location according to:

- Storage condition

- Delivering plant of the delivery item

- Shipping point of the delivery (see the section on Shipping

point determination)

RETA enables you to determine the picking location according to:

- Storage location

- Delivering plant of the delivery item

- Situation

This rule is particularly important for retail scenarios.

You set up this rule in plant master control (Logistics - General)

in Maintain plants.

The delivering plant is automatically determined in the sales

Finally assign stroge locations in the Picking Location Determination step

MALA, RETA are storage location rules using which storage location is determined. For example: MALA uses plant, storage conditions and shipping point to determine the storage location. You configure this on item category of the delivery. You can also enter it manually, it can defined on the config. of delivery type and item category of delivery.
