Printing SAP Documents using SAPGui for Java

Former Member

Hi Gurus!

I've installed SAPGui for Java under Ubuntu Linux v.7.04 and it works fine. I've also installed my Brother HL-5250dn and I can print test page and other documents. My problem is that when I login to SAP and try print documents from SAP I can't get any output. Can any help me on how to make this work?

Thanks,

Bryle

Hi,

Frontend printing using SAPLPD (access method 'F') is only supported on Win32 platforms. For newer backend versions, a new printing architecture for all platforms supported by SAP GUI for Java (access method 'G') is available

check Note 821519 - Front-end printing with control technology

Hi! Thanks for the helpfull message but unfortunately still I can't print SAP documents. Here's what I did under SPAD, under Device Types: BRHL - Brother HL Series R4.5+ONLY, define my spool server, under Device Class i enter Standard printer. On the Access Method Tab: I choose G:Front End Printing with Control Tech. On the Host Printer: __Default. Any suggestion and thanks again.

Thanks,

HI,

On the Host Printer: __Default should be __DEFAULT

Thank you very much! I really apreciate your time in answering all my questions. Now my printing is already working on ECC6. I have one last question, can I set this up or do same thing in SAP 4.6c? I can't see any G: Front End Printing with Control Tech under Host Spool Access Method. Is there a counterpart that I can use to configure in SAP 4.6c? Thanks again.
