How do I know if a particular OSS note has been implemented in the current version of SAP (if for eg I am using ECC 6.0 does it mean it would have most of the notes implemented, again I am confused about what is the difference b/w release notes, SAP notes, upgrades and release??Thanks.

> release notes, SAP notes, upgrades and release??

- Release notes contain the changes between two versions

- Upgrades are done from ECC 5.0 to (e. g.) ECC 6.0

- SAP notes contain code corrections that are included in support packages.

Example:

E. g. note 1157595 (I just picked a random number)

In the affected releases you will see to which "SAP versions" this note applies. Listed is there the component version that you can see in the system when executing "System - Status - Component versions". In that example that note applies to 4.70, ECC 5.0 and ERP 6.0.

Below that you will see the support package, that contains that correction. So if you have "Support package 13 for component SAP_APPL 600 (SAPKH60013 - see again - System Status - component version)" installed, then this note is already in the system.

Hope this helps clearing your confusion
