SMARTFORM Font problem

Hi Experts,

I am facing a problem while printing in THAI language. The standard text is defined for the THAI language is using THANGSAN. The output is going really crazy in courier font. When I checked OTF for the spool, it seems the THANGSAN is being replaced by ANDALE_J 9.0.

I spoke to our BASIS team and they did load ANDALE_J for the device type I am using but still the problem persists.

Can anyone give me a proper direction please.

I have already checked SPAD / SE73 / OSS Note 776507.

Waiting to reward full points for the perfect answer.

Thanks and Kind Regards.

Pras

I guess this problem is quite common if your printer is not unicode enabled. Ask you basis team to install or set up uni-code hard disk to your printer.

This problem usually come with Aisan fonts as they are double digit characters. To overcome this only option is to make your printer unicode enabled.

Close the thread once your question is answered.

Hi Sai,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, our printers are unicode enabled. Do we need to install THANGSAN font family for device type we are using? Please advice.

Thanks and Regards

Try to use CYRILLIC fonts on uni-code enable printers.. it may solve your problem...

EX : HELVE used on non-unicode pronter and CYR_HELVE on unicode printer.

Hi Sai,

I tried Helvcyr but the result is same.

When I was checking my spool in RAW format, i found when ever the customer language is EN, output is fine but whenever the customer language is TH, I am getting garbelled output.

I noticed following things. When ever font size is EVEN number output is fine.

and when ever Font size is ODD number , it is messing it up.

Hi Sonika,

Yes I managed to resolve this issue. I created a new style sheet (ZTHAI_StyleSheet) with default font as THANGSAN. In my smartform nodes, I am checking if the language = THAI or not if yes, than in the output tab, I am giving Style sheet name as ZTHAI_StyleSheet. There is an OSS note related to this. I do not have it number but I will let you know on Monday.

Please feel free to write me if you are still facing this problem.

All the best Sonika.
