Hello,
I need some help here, if possible.
Where can i find the MaxDB GUI database manager ?
We currently have SAP R3 4.6C with MaxDB 7.5 on a Red Hat RHEL5.
It works really well. However, i got a surprise last Tuesday, when our SAP got "hi cups". It seems that it had its redo_logs full.
The logs backups are performed via DB13 transaction. But when this situation appears, it seems that i can user MaxDB GUI to connect to MaxDB on the Linux production server in order to perform the log backups that are needed, so SAP can run again.
I kindly ask for your help to show me where i can get the MaxDB database manager and, how to perform such task.
Thank you,
Filipe
Hi Filipe,
you can either use the Database Manager GUI or the newer Database Studio. Both can be found here:
The Database Manager GUI has Wizards that can aid you with specific tasks.
In order to save the Log, you first need to:
(Should you already have data backups, then you can possibly skip steps a + b.)
a) create a backup medium for a Data backup
b) backup Data
c) create a Log backup medium
d) backup Log
Afterwards, you can also decide to create a backumedium to be used for AutoSaveLog and switch that feature on.

Roland
