project number is created by system

Hi,

you know ,when you creat a project ,you need input a string numner ,otherwise system will give a infomation "pls input project code" when you save.

Now ,I hope system provide a auto-way to save project ,not to input project code .system distribute number to new project.

Hi Du Ming,

It should be possible to let the system generate the WBS ID, if you create a new one. I think, the responsible customizing is the 'Project Coding Mask', please check it out.

Project System -> Structures -> Operative Structures -> Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

When you create the project, click on the pulldown for the project definition field. This will give you a window "Find Open Number". Provide a start value or finish value for the project definition. For example, if you have created a project coding mask for your projects as PS-XXXXXX, enter PS-00000 and click the "find" button at the botton to get the next open number. Select it and it will become your auto-generated project definition for the new project.
