Date Format in Data Manager (DD/MM/AAAA)

Hello Experts,

I have a problem with the date format in the MDM DATA MANAGER (Version 5.5.42.95).

I have a field of type LITERAL DATE.

When I see the Date in the DATA MANAGER, I see it in the format:

MM/DD/AAAA

I want to see the Date in the format:

DD/MM/AAAA

When I select the field to modificate his value, I suddenly see the date in the format DD/MM/AAAA.

But, when I end the modifications, i see it again in MM/DD/AAAA

Does anybody know how to solve this ?

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Mariano.-

Hi Mariano,

I have exactly same issue. When you use the free-form search on the literal date field, it is even displayed in another format again (YYYY-MM-DD).

The only thing I figured out is that when changing the Country Settings (in the configuration of your PC) the date format in the Data Manager when editing the field is changed accordingly.

Only when you go out of the edit mode, the format is changed back into MM/DD/YYYY (in Record Detail) or YYYY-MM-DD (in Free-Form Search) again.

Unfortunately you cannot specify the format of the Date field via the Configuration Options of the DataManager. We are using SP06 (5.5.61.63) but also in that version it's not possible.

So if anyone else know solution to this problem, please let us know!

The date format for literal date is hard coded so there is no solution existing.

The only option is to use iViews to see the right format.

Hello,

I'm working on 7.1 SP6, is there still no solution into the Data Manager?

I've been looking to change the date format to DD/MM/YYYY, but I cannot get it.

Instead, in version 7.1. SP8 I see this is solved.

Could anyone confirm that this problem has been solved in SP7 or SP8?

Thanks!

Carlos Santamaría.

Hi,

Unfortunately there is no option available to change the date format in MDM Data Manager may be we expect this in the next release.

Hi Nitin,

This options don't change the way you see the date in the Data Manager, this options are only for the Import Manager.

Thank you anyway for answering so fast.

Okey, thank you. I think this is a basic feature that MDM is missing, I hope they solve this in the next versions.

I'm going to leave the question unanswered for now.

Hi Mariano,

There is 1 option in the Data Manger Client, in the Config Options.

Under->Format

Display time stamp fields in local time- yes/no

I think, The time stamp fields show time in GMT format. So if you make this option as YES, it will show you in your Local time.

I guess, this is the only option available for modifying Date formats from Data manager.

Please check whether this option suits your requirement.

Hope it helps.

Nitin,

Thank you for answering.

The option you provided it just work for TIME STAMP and CREATE STAMP Fields, no for LITERAL DATE fields.

When you select Display time stamp fields in local time NO, you get this:

When you select Display time stamp fields in local time YES, you get this:

It just changes the hour from GMT to local Time, the date still shows in MM/DD/AAAA.

I'm going to give you points for the effort.

If anybody else has a solution, please reply to the post.

Greetings,

Mariano.-

Hi Mariano,

Dates can be maintained in 3 different Formats in MDM.

MM/DD/YYYY

YYYYMMDD

DD.MM.YYYY

These 3 formats you can choose from Import Manager Configuration Options.

Also along with this, Try in the Data Manager Config Options. Hopefully you will find an option to maintain the Date and time differently in the Data manager.

Hope it helps.

*Please reward points if useful
