wht is the difference between blocking customer and mark customer for deletion.

Hello,

A customer can be blocked, if you want to tempororily stop the transactions. ou can block a customer sales area wise. You can even block the customer for sales order , a delivery or a billing docuent.

You can mark a customer master record for deletion if, you no longer maintain business relationships with the customer.

If you specify a sales area, you can mark the customer for deletion for selected sales areas. If you do not specify a sales area, you can mark the customer generally for deletion, i.e. for all sales areas.

Blocking customer - You can block customer at sales data, company code data etc. but when you block a customer at sales data you cant create sales order also. and if you block the company code data you cant forward to FI

Customer for deletion - If you mark the customer for deletion then then , system will give a message that customer has marked for deletion. and you cant process the transactions

you can block a customer account so that postings are no longer made to that account. You have to block a customer account before marking a customer master record for deletion, for example. You would also block a customer that you use only as an alternative dunning recipient, so that nobody can post to that customer by mistake.

Only block an account if there are no more open items in the account

Blocking the customer means that financial postings cannot be done for the customer.Customer marked for deletion means sales order cannot be created for this customer, since customer will not be in use. A warning message is displayed informing that the customer is marked for deletion.

Ideally Customers marked for Deletion should always be blocked for posting.
