Hi All,

I am configured the MAMLAPTOP3005_0-20001490 and followed all the steps. After completion all the steps I can see only XMAM and other only in the mobile device. I cant see any order's ,notifications etc. My trace file shows following message.My midilware ABAP and Backend Servers are different.Can any body give idea where I have to look into.

Hi Scott,

It is not clear from your description what is your problem exactly.

When you start MI you can see MAM link, correct? When you press on this link can you see application page? If yes, what you see on it - do you see MAM components, like Order Management, Notif management, ect? if yes, what happens when you choose one of them - do you see empty list of notifications for example?

Please give more details: it is not clearif you have problem with application itself, or application is deployed correctly and you have problems with application data.

Hi Larissa,

When I start MI I can see xMAM Home and Other. When I press on MAM link I cant see any application pages. I can see only other links and synchronization. I cant see any application links. When I click on Other links tab I am getting error in the small pop-up window. A Runtime Error has occured. Do you wish to Debug?

I have problems to see application itself in the device. Even synchronization shows it is success.

I am wondering where I have to look to solve this problem.

Hi Scott,

Seems to me that you have a problem with data, not with application.

When you don't see MAM components on MAM Home page (Order, Notif, etc. Management) after device sync - it means that there is no data in SyncBO MAM30_090 Item 030.

To confirm this you can execute http://localhost:4444/APP_NAME/ start_full.jsp. This is a tool to see local device database. MI client should be up and running to use it.

If this is a correct assumption, now you need to investigate why you don't get these data:

1. Execute BAPI MAM30_090_getdetail for your user on the backend to verify that data is returned by the BAPI and BAPI returns no errors.

2. If BAPI is returning correct data, is SyncBo MAM30_090 replicated on the middleware? If yes, double-check that your user data is indeed in table MEREP_207.

3. If data is replicated on the middleware - go to merep_mon and check for errors for your mobileID. Check file C:\Program Files\SAP Mobile Infrastructure\log\trace to see if there are any cues there.

Hi Larissa,

Thanks for the detailed steps. I have followed the mentioned steps.

1. When I Execute BAPI MAM30_090_getdetail for selected user data is returned BAPI with no errors.

2. When I run the SyncBo MAM30_090 replicated on the middleware I am getting message of "Replicator

ended successfully(SyncBO=MAM30_90). But I cant see user data in the table MEREP_207. In fact I cant see any records in table MEREP_207.

3 In the trace file I am getting following message.

Hi Larissa,

I am getting following message in the applog.txt file.

What does it mean? Any idea?

Hi Scott and Ameer,

Two completely separate topics emerged from you last messsage:

1. If you run MAM30_090 replication on the middleware, get message "Success" but have no recored in MEREP_207 is the real reason why you don't see any data (if downloaded) on the device. Few step to narrow down the reason:

- try transaction st22 to see if there are eny DUMPs

- execute MAM30_ML_090_GETLIST and the then MAM30_ML_090_GETDETAIL for EVERY user retruned by the list. Very common problem is when one the getdetail fails and nothing is replicated.

- if none of the previous applies, regenerate MAM30_090 SyncBo and run replication again

2. Applog.txt is a file that keeps record of application navigation. If user switches between pages you will see it reflected in this file. In no way this file can help you to resolve your issue with data download. The most useful trace file from all is trace.txt from the same MI directory. This file will show any error of a sync process. But in your case, there can be no problem with sync when no data is sent (because it is not replicated properly).

Thanks for your quick reply. As you told when I was running MAM30_090 replication on the middleware,

I have got intially RFC System error: Function Module"MAM30_ML_090_GETLIST" not found. But when I rerun once again I have got success message.

Interestingly I have got shortdump in the backend with message of Function module"MAM30_ML_090_GETLIST" I cant see that function module in the backend. But I can see the function module with MAM30_090_GETLIST. What does it mean?

Hi Scott,

you can really not see MAM30_ML_090_GETLIST in the backend? Can you see MAM30_001_GETLIST in backend se37 transaction?

Well, please check two things:

first of all if your backend system is able to run MAM30. See the recommendation. I think you need at least BackendPlugin 2004 - the patch level I do not know exactly but it is helpfull to be on the latest Patch level or only one level back. If you have Backend plugin 2003 only, then you can not run MAM30.

Furthermore please check if your RFC connection exists. In MEREP_PD on Middleware you can see all SyncBOs. The tab RFC destination tells you the name of the RFC destination this BO will use.

If both things are correct you should basically get data down to MEREP_207 table in MW and so to the device.

Hi Oliver,

Our backend is ERP6.0(SAP ECC 6.0) with latest patch level SP15. And our plug in is 2005_1_700 with SP15. I have all the MAM3.0 function modules except that so called MAM30_ML* series.

I have created the RFC and working fine remaining SyncBO's.

Backend - ERP 2005

Middleware - MI 7.0 SPS15

MAM - 3.0 SP05.

What I have to do if I want get the MAM30_ML_090_GETLIST and MAM30_ML_090_GETDETAIL on my backend.

Hi Scott,

One of the new features of MAM3.0 is multi-language support.

Until this version replicated data was done in one language only. Transactionla data was able to give a device response in user-dependent language, but replicated data - one language only (with a language of a user that is configered for RFC connection from middlware to the backend).

Hence, all XX_ML_XX BAPIs for all T01/T51s.

To run MAM30 successfully you need those BAPIs to be present in your system, even if you only need one language. And MAM3.0 has a new configuration for language that must be done, even if you need one language only.

From what I understand these BAPIs are missing in your system.

What you need to do is - study MAM3.0 central note (833458), apply ALL notes listed there. Even those that seems to be related to a functionality you don't plan to use. Also, there are two composite notes in this central note that relate to backend: one for backend 2005 and the other one for other lower releases. Take the onle relevant to your backen version and apply all. Ther are a LOT of notes.

I have found the Note 995346 - MAM3.0: SR3-Backend composite note for ERP 2005.

I came to know that there are some of the notes not applied in my system. I hope it solves my problem.

Hi Scott,

do not worry about points.

I am not here to get them. As long as you have your problem fixed and have a successfully mobile application implementation...

While implementing the note be sure that you check all of them - some of the notes inside that note are composite themselves. At my current customer we keep an excel sheet with the status of all applied notes, it becomes messy quite fast. We call it "the most expensive" spreadsheet considering how much consulting time goes into analysing MAM notes.

And they get added constantly, so put it in your calendar - to review and apply new ones on a regular basis.

do not worry about points! As Larissa said - as long as your system is working, that is the thing we would like to archieve.

Hope implementing the notes helps - I know, searching for notes and having always the latest release implemented is really a mess!

I have just mentioned about the points casually never mind.

I do agree with both of you after seeing handful of notes there :-((

We have applied all the mentioned notes by going SAP_APPL to SP13

Good news is that now I can able to see data in the MEREP_207 and bad news is that still unable to download the data to mobile client. When I checked the MEREP_MON I can see I_waiting and I_finished status is 1 against all the 12 SyncBO's . When I execute all the BAPI's in the backend all are giving expected data now. I am still analyzing the issue and getback you to soon.

Hi Scott,

Now we are facing a completely different issue - with middlware, SyncBos namely.

Most common reason when SyncBos go to I-Waiting state - one of them is deactivated.

Go to merep_pd and ensure that all of the SyncBos show status green. If not, check that all of the SyncBos are generated, none of them have BAPI errors, all of the T01s and T51s are replicated, then "activate".

Also, as a lot of BAPIs has changed by applying notes, I hope you re-replicated all SyncBos?

Hi Scott,

I am not sure if Larissa mentioned in the reply - after implementing the notes it is a good idea to go to MEREP_SBUILDER, do the bapi wrapper check for all BOS and once this is done, regenerate all BOs again.

Then - like Larissa mentioned - replicate the BOs of Type T01 nd T51 again and do not forget to activate them.

This should help.

If not, have a look into MEREP_LOG and check for W and E messages. This will give you a better understanding why some of the BOs are not processing.

Then do a data reset on the device and sync again - this should at the end cure the problem - if you rSPRO setup in th backend is really correct.

Hi Scott,

could you give me a little more information on that?

- What version of MI client are you using?

- have you restarted MI, the xMAM folder in WEBAPPS is created and then you sync? other way round: what have you done previously on the device after MAM was downloaded?

- Are all BOs enabled in MEREP_PD

- what does the MEREP_MON show after a sync?

Well, yes, most likely you should see some issues in MEREP_MON/MEREP_LOG after a sync if you mised some settings at setup.

My client version is MI 70 SP 15 Patch 0 Build 200802280918.

After downloading MAM I have restarted my device and Sync again.

All the SyncBo's are enabled status.

In the MEREP_MON outbound status are showing all 1 under status of I-waiting.

and inbound status are showing all 1 under I-Finished status.

My middleware SP level is 15 and my backend(ERP 6.0 or ECC 6.0) SP level is 13.

Please let me know what I have to do see all the applications on the device.

this is confusing - cause this is the normal steps you do.... Well, have a look into MEREP_MON or into the LOGS of the ingle BOs in MEREP_MON and see if ther eis any data. If there is onyl 1 outbound Queue I would expect you are missing some settings in SPRO in the backend. Check these as well please for MAM
